SDL # 2 Signing Petitons

The Desi loves to sign petitions... These petitions are usually with regard to serious topics such as voting for Aishwarya Rai as the 8th wonder, or Taj mahal as the most beautiful thing produced by India till date (or vice versa). There are also petitions regarding general topics such as asking for the resignation of the President of India contending that her brothers have corruptions charges, or to have US declare a National Holiday for Diwali.

Signing these petitions and subsequently forwarding it to atleast forty five other desis on his email list is very important for the desi, as it assuages his guilt about having received a free education in their own country, and not having contributed to its economy at all.

By signing petitions the desi is convinced that he took some productive steps towards betterment of his country. Now he can relax and guiltless-ly use his Indian education to create wealth for the United States.

When confronted with such a desi, it will be advantageous to discuss the last petition that he sent regarding banning Sania Mirza from representing India in tennis after her foot was photographed in the "orthographic" vicinity of the Indian flag. Assure him that you immediately signed the petition and forwarded it to all your friends in Cisco. After this you can continue to talk about how there are too many Indians in Fremont, and that you would like to move to Santa Clara.
